Every restaurant owner should take some time to expand their sphere of influence. That is to say, you should constantly be doing stuff that reaches out and makes attractive offers to potential new customers.

Just because you have premises that attract a healthy flow of customers, doesn’t mean your promotional activity should rest on that. You need to look around your city for locations, a reasonable distance from your premises, that you could place offers that will attract new customers to your premises.

IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE EXPENSIVE MEDIA Advertising

Look for busy traffic areas, close to public transport pick up and drop off points, parking areas and busy walkways. This is a great way to attract customers away from your opposition. Make your offer before your competitor. Most importantly, do it it a clever way that will attract attention and be remembered.

    Lindsay,
Your post is quite accurate. Restaurant owners once they struggle through and find a formula that works tend to rest on their laurels and forget to continue to expand their sphere of influence. Thanks for the reminder.
