This Pizza War Is Getting Really Ugly…

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so you don't miss any of the NEW IDEAS posted twice per day. Thanks for visiting!

Eagle boys Pizza have decided to use You Tube to have a shot at their rival, Domino Pizzas.

Ken Burgin of the excellent Profitable Hospitality

(a must visit for any serious player in the hospitality game)

Recently sent this link to me. Thanks Ken.

If you have ever been the target of ridicule and satire you will now this sort of stuff has a real “OUCH” effect.

However, if this has stirred your creative juices, and you are now hatching up some wicked plot to have a “GO” at your opposition, BE WARNED, this type of gloves off street fighting has a nasty habit of inciting your opposition into equal lashings of vindictive bile and game playing.

The lawyers also love this stuff, it gives them a chance to shoot off a few morally indignant (form) letters and trot out legal talk like “Frivolous and Vexatious” that sends mere mortals like me scrambling for dictionaries.

Put a Pair of Dentures In Every Drink You Serve…

This new product made my day…

It appears that dentures aren’t just for Grandpa anymore!
Freeze up a batch of Frozen Smiles and drop them into
any glass - they’re the ice cubes that grin right back at you
(and your guests).

I guarantee they will be noticed and talked about!
Don’t you think they’ll add a little bite to whatever you’re drinking?

Frozen Smiles are made from soft, food-safe synthetic rubber and packaged
in clear, peggable, recyclable PET-G boxes.

Here’s a link to purchase.

In fact I would purchase in bulk, and offer them for sale.

For an even more bizarre idea visit my companion site www.stuff4business.com to find out how you can exchange sperm for tickets…

What is an iBar ?

iBar is a system to make your bar counter fully interactive.
Integrated video-projectors project any content on the milky bar-surface and an intelligent tracking system of detects all objects touching the surface.

This input is used to let the projected content interact dynamically with the movements on the counter. Objects can be illuminated at their position or virtual objects can be “touched” with your fingers.

The iBar system can be installed completely into any kind of bar-counter.

As it is run by software, the effects can be customized to suit.

All up it looks like a whole lot of fun that will capture the imagination and attention plus generate bucket loads of FREE “word of mouth” Advertising.

Heres a link to their site with heaps more pics and VIDEOS.

Does Your Business Need A Pillow Menu ?

During a recent stay in a hotel I discovered a “Pillow Menu” in my room.

As a long time neck sufferer (My wife terms me as a pain in the neck) It was a very welcome value added service.

A quick Google proved it is a service offered by many service oriented hotels, but it got me thinking how easy it would be for most businesses to offer similar “value added services” at their point of delivery.

Things like, choice of chairs, cutlery, binding of documents, packaging etc. etc. The point is, the simple act of offering such a choice is a clear indication to your customers that you care and regard them as individuals with unique wants and needs.

Brilliant Food Art To Advertise Extremely Sharp Knives…

The key to Advertising any products unique qualities is to use photography to clearly show what it can do for its target customers.

So, if you wanted to tell Chefs that you manufacture knives that are made of high quality materials and are extremely sharp…

Well, you judge for yourself, how well this set of advertisements achieves this…

The million dollar question now is…

How can you show how good your product or service is (from your customers perspective) in a photo?

Forget the chocolate… This is what I want for Easter…

Published by Lindsay under EDITORIAL COMMENTS

Yeah I know… I could/should wish for world peace, an end to hunger and the exploitation of our planet.

But I too have needs … and this would be my humble way of contributing to the exploiting of children forced to harvest the Cocoa beans … yeah right!

Would it be too much to ask for a little something for myself? say a Faberge egg… After all, it would last a whole lot longer, and wouldn’t result in zits or migraines… at least, until the credit card bills arrived.

Are “Dick Hats” about to become the ultimate Easter chocolate gift ?

Oh dear!, I think this is going to one of “THOSE” posts.

chocolateheadedwarrior.jpg easyrider.jpg

John Cricket at Business Opportunities and Ideas blog , showed incredible bad taste, by showing and telling his readers about “Dick Hats ”

If the pics and name don’t give you an idea what this is all about visit John’s site and the euphemistically named “Chocolate Party Hats” site for all the lurid, chocolate tongue in cheek, stuff about what I’m sure will be one of the most asked for Easter treats.

Here is a little something to amuse your wine crew…

I thought you might like to share this with your drinks crew, and maybe, any other lovers of wine and good humor. (I guess that covers everyone, right?)

Controvercial Advertising Campaign Shocks Germany

Here’s something to think about this weekend…

Does this Advertising campaign go too far? Many Germans think so.

My personal opinion is:

Who cares? I’m unlikely to be offended by any form of sexual fantasy unless it involves unwilling parties, violence, children etc.

My problem with it is: It’s just plain ineffective, who knows, cares, or remembers the product supposedly being promoted?

So, regardless of how much “shock horror” free publicity is generated by the inevitable self appointed, morally indignant watch dogs (that really was unintentional), the product doesn’t benefit.

What do you think? leave a comment.

A couple of very bad signs…

There is no need for me to add anything to these prime examples of bad taste and mediocrity, other than…

“There is none so blind as those that can not (will not) see.”

A Very Clever Public Service and Self Promotion Idea…

I was recently sent this little gem.

It’s very clever, sure to be noticed, and the public service message will avoid it being dismissed as an unwanted intrusion.

All you have to do to add some self promotion, is add a coupon on the back that gives the reader a powerful self serving reason to visit your establishment.

FUN BAGS…

O.K. Calm down, I’m not that blatantly crass… Well, not always.

Here’s some more great carry bags that will grab more than their fare share of Advertising grunt.

I really do like this stuff, with just a little imagination and no extra cost, each bag quickly becomes a walking billboard for your message.

A Great Guerrilla Poster Advertising Idea

Oh the joy of it, this really does appeal to my wicked sense of humor…

Using everybody else’s posters, simply add your message in a cheeky but non destructive way.

O.K. sure, you can expect some rather irate calls from the owners and they may even resort to a little payback attention and a smattering of litigious warning letters, but you will have grabbed a whole lot of “street cred” and memorable attention.

Not to mention the fun you will have doing it under the cloak of darkness.

The Best Website Introduction I Have Ever Seen…

With 17.3 Squillion websites that are out there I guess I haven’t seen them all yet

(and to be honest, have no great wish nor the patience to do so) but this link was sent to me recently by Carrie MacCarthy, who has a great blog HERE , and because I trust her, (her taste is almost as bad as my own) I had a look.

It is a great lesson on how to instantly engage visitors to a site whilst communicating that you have stuff that will interest them. The site has attracted world wide online and traditional media attention.
In short it is BRILLIANT and is a must visit, so… heres the link http://producten.hema.nl/
