One of the truly exciting aspects of todays communication is the ability of thousands of like minded, passionate, business focused, people to join together from all around the globe to share information.
I hope you will enjoy your time in my humble little part of the world, and come back often to share your experiences, or maybe heckle and challenge me… (no rotten tomatoes please) I welcome it all, as long as we all are able to learn from it.
Please take the time to register your email address (I absolutely promise NO spam) and hook your RSS reader to my news feed (doesn’t that sound just a tad over familiar when we have only just met :)) so you don’t miss any of the twice daily postings of NEW IDEAS.
Above all, please enjoy and leave comments (remember, well made comments on blogs, act as advertisements for you and your business.) wherever you wish.
Oh, and here is the link to the FREE ebook on how to create business signs. It’s a fun read and I hope you enjoy it.

Frequent visitors to this site and my stuff4restaurants site will tell you I love bizarre and crazy promotional ideas.
I like them because they are fun to do and a low cost method of getting people to talk about your business. (and probably because I am a little bizarre and crazy myself).
So you can imagine how excited I was when a reader sent me this little gem.
Could anybody use this toilet and not immediately start telling their friends about it?

Recently I wrote a post warning owners that they should have a close look at their bathrooms, because all too often, they become forgotten and the condition of some, creates an appalling impression on their customers.
Well, in response, I was sent a link to John Michael Kohlers site where you will find bathrooms that are good, bad, and downright ugly. (explore at your own risk)
I have put some photos above of some truly exotic bathrooms. Can you imagine how many times they will be commented on, and photographed, then shown to friends.
Do something as REMARKABLE as this, and suddenly, you have turned a non feature of your business into a promotional devise.
At least this topic is a bit of a relief (sorry I couldn’t resist just one…) from some of the really expensive Advertising ideas

Now here’s an idea so simple it’s almost silly…
That is, until you learn that it provides this window cleaner and his 20 man team with over 90% of their work, and has increased his sales by over 400%!
Maybe it’s not quite so silly after all…
In fact I saw it recently while taking my dog for a walk, It prompted me to think about the state of our windows, so, I took one of the yellow flyer’s shown in the photo graph and he made another sale.
Part of its effectiveness is its immediacy… I would have walked straight past a nicely sign written vehicle with out a second look. But this was different, it spoke to me and it worked.
This same technique will work for any business with vehicles that are out and about. And I’m sure you can think of lots of ways to make your sales message stand out even more.
What a great way to turn a non performing cost into a sales tool

O.K. I admit this is a shameless, self serving, piece of promotion this new site .
stuff4business.com has been produced to provide the broader community of business owners with the same type of promotional and Advertising ideas stuff4restaurants provides to the restaurant and hospitality industry.
I have produced this site after much encouragement from readers who have contacted me over recent weeks. You know who you are, and I thank you all sincerely for pushing and encouraging me in this exciting new direction.
NOW I NEED YOUR HELP…
Please check the site out for yourself, and if you think my humble effort is worthy, I would greatly appreciate your help in letting your friends know about it, and please don’t forget to add it to your own r.s.s. reader.

I defy anybody passing through this rather attractive orifice to fail to notice it.
Sure, this sized sign is probably well beyond the budgets of most, but the concept could be applied on a smaller scale.
The key question is… How could you use this concept to grab the attention of your passing traffic.
How about doing some thing just like this over a busy doorway, sports entrance or subway entrance.

Not only a good attention grabbing sign with brochure distribution
function, Signs like this make great photo opportunities that are then seen by friends and families on those “fascinating” after holiday
slide evenings.

However, unlike the sample here, make sure… you include the name, location and the phone number of your business. C’mon, this is streets ahead of the same old chalk boards I don’t even notice anymore.
My challenge to you is: What can you do, right now that will
convert more of your existing street traffic to buy from you???
