Here is a couple of signs I wish I had the courage to use…

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my twice daily postings of NEW IDEAS in your RSS feeder. Thanks for visiting!

Are these signs a case of a little too much honesty in Advertising?

Or, are they a clever way of breaking through some of the mind numbingly “SAME SAME” clutter.

An Advertising Piece and Business Card Idea With Real Heart

This is a great way to promote a business by dramatizing exactly what it is you do.

The use of the heart icon is instantly recognizable and by combing its use as both a promotional piece and a business card costs are kept to a absolute minimum.

How To Supercharge Your Advertising Message

Any promotion that dramatically illustrates what it is that your product or service DOES FOR YOUR CUSTOMER supercharges its effectiveness.

This great promotional device shows exactly how you can achieve this with good humor.

The point is: stop the boring “brag and boast” stuff and spend some quality time thinking about what problems your product solves for your CUSTOMERS (remember them, they are the ones that pay the bills) then think of a way of showing your product solving that problem.

C’mon this stuff ain’t rocket science.

Even Hair Shampoo Goes Guerrilla

What a pleasant change from yet another one of those boring shower scenes where the girl has impossibly shiny wet hair and strategically placed lather.

How could any one ignore this great promotional gimmick and the free sample gets potential customers trying the product at no risk.

Remember sampling is a great way to get potential customers to try your product and done the right way, converts to real repeat sales at a high rate and very quickly.

All You Need For This Advertising Stunt Is a Fast Moving Car and a Draw Bridge…

This Clever Advertisement is one of those rare Advertising stunts that has the capacity to put a memorable smile on the faces of everyone who sees it. And that should not be scoffed at… in world packed far too full of boring “Brag and Boast” Advertising disregarded as part of the urban clutter we have to ignore to maintain our sanity and brain cells, an advertisement that makes us smile is welcome and attention grabbing.

SnowBoard Advertising On Taxis

Again, it’s the power of putting something unexpected, in a place even less expected…

It grabs attention every time.

This  clever promotion was done for the Norwegian SnowBoard  Association.

I Dare You to Make This Your Next Guerrila Advertising Stunt…

I guess this goes under the heading of “Brag and Boast” Advertising

I don’t know what it was trying to promote (my guess it is NOT a religious promo) but it certainly does appear to be getting the undivided attention of the people around, though I guess there was a touch of “Penis Envy” from approx 50% of the onlookers.

And NO, I do not want your suggestions for a headline :) unless it’s really clever.

An Advertising Idea With Real Bite…

Never underestimate the power of the “un-ordinary” to grab attention.

Our brains are programmed to disregard the predictable (if everything got through, there would be no processing power left to concentrate on the really important stuff) The problem is, most Advertising fails to interrupt this survival reflex, long enough to deliver its offer or “pick me” message.

So when you do something as simple, but UNPREDICTABLE as the photo below, you break through and earn the opportunity to deliver your Advertising message.

How To Grab Bucketloads of Free Publicity on YouTube

With the U.S. Presidential campaign season in full swing, Denny’s, America’s iconic dining chain, is asking consumers from coast to coast to submit their best impersonations of the 2008 Presidential candidates for the chance to win one free meal a month for a full Presidential term.

This is a great example of how to use YouTube, Bloggers and your customers to generate bucket-loads of FREE PUBLICITY.

Here’s a couple of examples of early entries.

A Great Coffee Cup Carrier From Germany

This great packaging idea (apparently from Germany) will suit any cafe that services the office market.

It makes it very easy for someone to carry several cups of God’s own nectar for their friends and co workers and is a great way to add value to multiple sales at very low cost.
