How To Use Non Destructive Graffiti To Grab Attention…

I like clever graffiti…

I don’t mean the mindless tagging stuff, but a clever piece of graffiti can often turn an ugly urban landscape into a work of art.

But putting my likes aside, here’s a great idea using non destructive graffiti (masking tape) to draw the attention of passers by to your business.

A Smashing Australian Advertising Idea

 I’m sorry if you don’t get this…

Let me try and explain… (Which will probably make it even more obscure)

Cricket is a sport that has almost religious significance in  countries that were colonized by the English, and we now take great pride in beating them at.

Vegemite is Australia’s favorite breakfast spread, it is a yeast extract, bitter in taste and almost black in color, and based on the English product called Marmite.

So all this has been combined into a very clever piece “In Humor” celebrating inter-country rivalry using highly emotive symbols.

Get It?… Oh well I did try… It’s sort of an Australian version of the combination of “Yankee Doodle Dandy”, Peanut Butter and Jelly, and Baseball.

More Clever Ideas To Dress Up Your Premises…

 Don’t Get Me Wrong… I like architects!!!

In fact, on most “nice” days I can be overheard praising their talents and extolling their contribution to mankind.

However, you have to admire how these clever building owners have squeezed a whole lot of attention grabbing potential from what appears to be a pretty ordinary looking building.

The  Italians, in region just north of Pizza are real experts at this sort of stuff.

The point is… (I think) It’s a great low cost way of dressing up your premises and grabbing some differentiated, free publicity, in the process.

Would a Smattering of Bird S#*@ Improve Your Advertising ?

It certainly adds some attention grabbing believability to this sign.

Without it, the billboard would be pretty Ho Hum.

The seemingly unfortunate accident/s have the added impact of more than doubling the visual impact of the sign.

How to get bucketloads of FREE publicity from your premises…

Seth Godin says… BE DIFFERENT or BE FORGOTTEN

Wow! No one is ever going to forget this place. The Skeleton Bar (I wonder why they called it that) was designed by Hans Rudi Giger who worked on the movie ‘Aliens’ and got a number of awards including Oscar for the best special effects.

Just imagine how much free publicity this place gets. OK, OK  I know it must have cost a fortune to create, but lots of bars spend this sort of money merely to copy the cookie cutter “trend of the day” and achieve no point of difference that is even slightly memorable.

The whole point is…  the decoration of your premises are a great opportunity to be different, be remembered and yield bucket loads of FREE publicity.
